Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg to write and direct Nintendo Vs Sega movie.

Responsible for the critically acclaimed This Is the End, Superbad and Pineapple Express, duo Seth and Evan are set to venture into the nineties and adapt the iconic battle that happened between the mammoth game companies Nintendo and Sega. Based on Blake Harris’s upcoming book Console Wars: Sega, Nintendo and the Battle that Defined a Generation, the story will explore the ‘war’ between the two video game giants and will presumably be a comedy and follow the traditional comical style the duo is celebrated for.

I for one am a huge fan of Seth’s movies and I am very excited to hear about this news but I also find it hard to imagine. The likes of Pineapple Express and This Is the End have such a different direction that I don’t know how this is going to work, however I’m sure the duo will figure out a way to make It’s audience chuckle with laughter.

The Legend Of Zedd

Video

Something I’ve been wanting to share with people for a while now is my love for music, especially this amazing adaptation of a classic. The original Zelda theme tune from the 1986 release is one of my favorite songs of all time. The 8 bit beat is nostalgic, calming and harmoniously pleasing to the ears, so when i heard that Zedd, one of my favorite producers had remixed the track i had to listen to it. Zedd does this amazing thing were the track sounds the same, but feels completely new a refreshing. Zedd lifts the theme song into another dimension and really expresses the iconic melodies through his sharp synths and progressive base, as well as successfully transitioning the track into a modern era. Honestly if I could have any theme tune to my life it would be this song, i even want it played at my funereal. If you’re a fan of video games, music and especially Zelda, i strongly advise you to check this out.

Mario Kart 8 Speculation: VIDEOSPIL’s Top 5 Most Wanted Characters

Image

With the soon to be released Mario Kart 8 for Nintendo Wii U I thought it would be a fun idea to speculate about the tracks, characters and overall idea of what the series will bring to the table this time around in a 3 part segment.

So let’s begin with characters, here is a list of all the characters we know of so far:

Hallelujah for the Koopalings! The total roster as it stands is 24 and you bet on more to be revealed. I think obious choices such as Bowser Jr, Birdo and of course the ability to play as your Mii are undoubtedly going to make the final cut, so here are Videospil’s top 5 hopes, wants and dreams for the roster.

5. Toadsworth

Image

The sixty year old carer of the Toads deserves to get behind the wheel this time around, Toadsworth has a unique charm about his character and I believe this is mostly due to the fact he is an old character. Could you imagine this squishy mushroom getting angry when hit by a red shell? Amazing.

4. King Boo

Image

King Boo was one of my favorite characters in Mario Kart Wii and I was so disappointed with the roster for Mario Kart 7 that I feel if King Boo doesn’t make it into this game I will throw a toaster at Nintendo. King Boo is cheeky, cute and chubby, the perfect character. King Boo’s first appearance was back in 2001 with Luigi’s mansion, I would say he has earned his spot unlike a few others I could mention… Birdo, what even are you?

3. Kamek

Image

Debuting in Super Mario Worlds 2: Yoshi’s Island back in 1995 it’s hard to believe Kamek has yet to be a part of the Mario Kart series. A Magikoopa was set to be a playable character in Mario Kart 64 however was soon replaced with Donkey Kong, (bastard monkey thinks he can do whatever he wants) however I still hope and I still have faith that Kamek will be driving along rainbow road one day.

2. Professor Elvin Gadd

Image

Professor E. Gadd is one of my favourite characters in the Mario Universe, he has this wacky, crazy scientist vibe to him, like seriously could you imagine one of his karts? Irrational. E. Gadd like Kamek was originally supposed to appear in a previous Mario Kart game (Mario Kart DS) so think his chances are high and I sure hope so, the only thing going against him is his placement. I think if Nintendo turned around and said ‘he just doesn’t fit in with the rest of the characters’ I would probably be like yeah, I get that, but here’s hoping I’m just stupid, which I am.

1. Lubba

A fat purple Luma… With PANTS! Lubba is everything that’s right with the world, he is the beauty that glues together the idea of love. Seriously, he is one of Nintendo’s more memorable characters, like I don’t see how you can’t remember a fat purple star that drives a spaceship through galaxies, unless you’ve never played Super Mario Galaxy 2 and if so stop what you’re doing right now and get your ass in gear. Lubba deserves a spot just like the rest of these characters, let’s hope Nintendo pulls through, I mean we got all 7 of the Koopalings so anything’s possible.
